USA – Siemens Healthineers has announced key leadership appointments to steer its global ultrasound business as part of a strategic push to expand in diagnostic imaging.
Effective April 1, 2025, Sourabh Pagaria will assume the role of President of the Global Ultrasound Business, succeeding Ajay Gannerkote.
He will be based at the company’s office in Palo Alto, California. Pagaria, who joined Siemens Healthineers in 2011, brings extensive leadership experience to the role.
He most recently served as Executive Vice President and Head of Southern Europe, managing operations across Italy, Spain, Greece, and Portugal.
In his new position, he will oversee the strategic direction of the global ultrasound portfolio, with a focus on innovation and market growth.
“It is a privilege to take on leadership of Siemens Healthineers’ global ultrasound business as we embark on our next phase of growth,” Pagaria said.
“Our strong foundation in interventional and diagnostic ultrasound positions us well to meet the expanding global demand.”
In tandem with Pagaria’s appointment, Jocelyne Mekontso has been named Head of the Diagnostic Ultrasound Franchise.
She will be based in Issaquah, Washington, leading product development, market strategy, and global portfolio expansion.
Mekontso brings over 20 years of experience in the medical device industry, with a deep background in R&D, product management, and commercial leadership.
Before joining Siemens Healthineers, Mekontso served as Vice President and General Manager of General Imaging Ultrasound at Philips.
She also spent nearly two decades at GE HealthCare, where she started as an ultrasound software engineer and rose to hold senior leadership roles across four continents.
These appointments come as Siemens Healthineers intensifies its investment in ultrasound as part of a broader imaging and digital transformation strategy.
The company aims to strengthen its presence in diagnostic imaging amid evolving healthcare delivery models and rising global demand for minimally invasive technologies.
The leadership reshuffle follows another recent change in March, when John Kowal was appointed President and Head of the Americas for Siemens Healthineers, succeeding David Pacitti, who became CEO of Avanos.
