AAR Hospital enhances childrens healthcare with specialized clinics

KENYA – AAR Hospital, located along Kiambu Road in Nairobi, has launched specialized pediatric clinics to address the growing demand for children’s healthcare services.

These clinics offer a comprehensive range of services, including regular check-ups, vaccinations, and health screenings, aiming for early diagnosis and treatment of childhood diseases.

Recognizing that children have unique physiological and psychological needs different from adults, the hospital has equipped these clinics with specialized pediatricians, appropriate equipment, and age-specific treatment protocols.

Cynthia Omina, AAR Hospital’s Head of Clinical Services, emphasized this approach, stating, “Children have unique physiological and psychological needs that differ from adults; the pediatric clinics will have specialized pediatricians, equipment, and age-specific treatment protocols.”

The hospital now offers at least 11 pediatric clinics, covering areas such as dermatology, nephrology, gastroenterology, neonatology, neurology, hemato-oncology, surgery, ENT, cardiology, endocrinology, and nutrition.

This expansion addresses the increasing incidence of childhood diseases, congenital disorders, and developmental delays, underscoring the need for specialized services.

AAR Hospital emphasizes a team-based approach, where pediatricians, specialists, surgeons, and mental health professionals collaborate to ensure comprehensive care that addresses both physical and emotional needs.

Dr. Omina highlighted this strategy, saying, “We emphasize a team-based approach where pediatricians, specialists, surgeons, and mental health professionals work collaboratively. This ensures comprehensive care for each child, addressing both physical and emotional needs.”

The hospital has also invested in the latest medical technology to provide advanced diagnostics and treatments, including minimally invasive surgical tools and advanced neonatal care systems.

Dr. Omina noted, “We have invested in the latest medical technology to provide cutting-edge diagnostics and treatments, such as minimally invasive surgical tools, and advanced neonatal care systems.”
