USA – Medtronic, a global leader in medical technology, has appointed Dr. Matthew Kroh as the Chief Medical Officer for its Advanced and General Surgical Technologies division.

Dr. Kroh, a board-certified surgeon with expertise in advanced laparoscopic, bariatric, and surgical endoscopy, brings a wealth of clinical and healthcare leadership experience to his new role.
Medtronic has highlighted that Kroh’s appointment will significantly enhance its clinical strategy, deepen physician relationships, and bolster engagement with key medical societies.

A leader in surgical innovation
Dr. Kroh’s experience as Division Chief of Foregut and Surgical Endoscopy at the Cleveland Clinic has established him as a prominent figure in minimally invasive techniques, including robotic and single-incision laparoscopic surgeries.
Notably, he conducted the first minimally invasive procedures using Levita Magnetics’ robotic surgical platform in 2023, marking a milestone in surgical innovation.
Kroh’s expertise aligns well with Medtronic’s mission to develop accessible, efficient, and patient-centered surgical solutions.
His leadership is expected to drive product development and commercialization strategies, bringing Medtronic’s advanced surgical technologies to broader clinical use.
